Katlyn’s coma scores seemed to have plateaued at a 10 for over a month now however, her family and therapists continue to see improvements. She did really well today and would have gotten an 11 on her test if ONLY she would keep her eyes open.
Administration has cut her therapies down to 2 hours a [...]
It’s a chilly day here in Schenectady, Kate had OT this morning then the Fleury Grandparents showed up for a visit. While we were sitting outside Kate started getting cold and Grandma Fleury asked her if she wanted to stay outside, Kate shook her head no immediately! It brings tears to our eyes now that [...]
Thanks again for all the Birthday wishes this week, we seemed to celebrate all week. Here’s a sneak peak of our celebration.
Kate actually perked up these last two days and seemed to do well in therapies. Katlyn had an easy day today with only half the therapy sessions, but she made the most of them. [...]
HAPPY HUMP DAY!!!! WOW!!! It was great to her all the well wishes yesterday via text, FB, and this site. I have read many of her Birthday wishes to her and will continue too read them to her throughout the day today.
It seems like Kate has been more sleepy the last week or two and [...]
HAPPY SWEET SIXTEEN, KATLYN!
Thank you to Paul V. Moore High School and ALL who assisted in making “Katlyn Climb Day” happen and to ALL who will support Katlyn’s 16th Birthday by wearing her T-Shirt today. We too will be celebrating here in Schenectady. At 12:40 today Aunt Barb, Aunt Mimi, the staff here in Schenectady [...]
Good morning,
Kate had a good night of sleep with the wicked step Mom at her side. She has had speech this morning and did very well with cream of wheat and hot chocolate. Then she went to OT and was not very happy when they were stretching her left arm and shoulder. Maybe it was [...]
Hello Katlyn’s followers,
It is a nice day here in Schenectady, Kate has had an hour of OT and 1/2 of speech so far today, this afternoon she has speech again then PT. She amazes me each week when I get here and see how much stronger she has become. She is eating larger quantities each meal, [...]
Miss us? Well I think we were all busy celebrating after our appt. with Katlyn’s Neurosurgeon on Friday. Although, Katlyn doesn’t reflect it at this time, Dr. Hall was pleased with what he saw on her CT scan. He appeared hopeful and implied maybe her deficits would not be as bad as we once feared. [...]
Well Sept 11th is a day everyone will remember for a long time. For me not just the attacks on 911 but today was Kate’s first Dr. appt with Dr. Hall since she left Syracuse. Her day started out with an hour of PT then a half of OT and speech. Then at 11:30 an ambulance [...]
Although, Katlyn didn’t gain any ground on her tests this week, I believe she is much more aware of things. Her therapies are going well and as Dad said her head control is getting sooo much better. We have been working on communication, trying to get her to nod or shake her head “yes” or [...]
