Katlyn is making some really great gains here and although she cannot walk or talk when asked the right question she can make her needs known. The therapists and doctors all comment on how hard she is trying. She’s a fighter! She is following more commands and her response time is getting so much better when you ask her to do something, be it turn her head, move her leg, and just today the doctor asked Kate to pick her arm up and place it in hers and she did. The therapists are trying some different techniques to assist in her recovery. Thanks to Chels for your help this week, you may think you didn’t do much but just being there to encourage her was great.
Kate caught a cold this week and has been a bit under the weather since Tuesday but I think she’s on the down hill slope. I think she’ll be better for her first trip HOME in 7 months. Yup, I said she’s comin HOME. Keith and Jimmy will be picking Kate up around 10:30 on Christmas morning so that she can experience all those familiar sounds and smells, Cocoa’s nails on the kitchen floor, her tail wagging frantically when someone walks through the door, the girls laughing and saying silly things, sitting on the couch, the smell of Christmas dinner in the air. This can only help in her recovery, I pray this will only make her stronger.

This is such wonderful news…quite a blessing indeed. Kate, you have managed to climb so many hurdles in front of you….everyone enjoy your Christmas and blessings to you all.

I am so happy for you all. I am sure Katlyn will have tears of joy in her eyes when she goes through that door again. I pray this Christmas and New Year will be filled w/ lots of joy, peace and continued improvements for her so that she may come home to stay. You all are still in our prayers. Tammy

awesome news Kate, and of course i got to see you in action thursday. your doin great in therapy , bending forward then lifting yourself back to a sitting position , WOW your so much stronger it seems. i can’t wait to hear about any new reactions, especially when cocoa see’s you. she will know you INSTANTLY
she will want to lick your face and crawl on your lap !!! and maddie & jamie haven’t seen you in quite a few weeks so they will be excited , what a wonderful CHRISTMAS GIFT 
just know that house will be rockin with joy . i will see you again Sunday , my favorite time to spend with you is to watch you in therapies, to catch those FIRST’S new progresses 
many people up here in pulaski & sandycreek ask about you often, and are amazed how far you’ve come , they say we’ll keep praying

That is absolutely awesome that you are going home for Christmas. You are getting stronger every day. I hope you have a great Christmas and continue to make great strides in your recovery. I will of course continue to pray for you.
